Happenings at Living Water for the week of 11/9

Revival is still in the air as we continue to restore the song in our hearts. A spirit of repentance prevailed in our service Sunday as we were challenged to “not let the leftovers go to waste”. God uses what we have even when WE feel like it isn’t worth using. Often times we feel that our mistakes keep us from being able to move forward and we blame our current situations on our pasts. We must keep our eyes on God and let Him take what we have left and mold it into a beautiful vessel for His glory.

And oh my, Wednesday night’s message on getting back to the basics….what a key message. It was just what we needed to hear. We need to get off our fast paced merry-go-round called life and get back to the basics of the Bible. Too many times we read a few verses and feel like we’ve done our part when in fact, we don’t really scratch the surface. We need to take time to read, pray, study, and think about what we’ve read. This is the only way to comprehend the full meaning of God’s word.

As we approach the thanksgiving season let us all take a moment to rejoice in God’s blessings on others. Two prayers have been answered in a great way. A man who had recently lost his job testified last night that he found a full-time job. Another lady who had been praying for financial blessing gave testimony that her blessing will come in the opportunity to work more hours on her job. God is good, all the time; and always right on time.

May we all continue in a spirit of praise and worship as we prepare to bless others this Sunday. In this time of economic difficulty we are privileged to be able to give away 100 turkeys to bless families in our community. Let us pray that as we go door to door to share God’s blessings we will let our community see Jesus in our smiles.

Third Annual Turkey Giveaway

Third Annual Turkey Giveaway

At Living Water seek not just to exist in our community but to make a difference. One of the many ways which we accomplish this goal is by giving away turkey’s. Every year in the month of November we gather as church members and take to the streets giving away turkey’s to those in need. Through this we hope to show the love of Jesus through the spirit of giving. The response we get each year assures us that we are doing the right thing as more than once we have been told that we help make a difference in a family’s Thanksgiving.

This year our Turkey Giveaway will take place after our church service on Sunday November 23. We look forward to giving back to our community!

Happenings at Living Water for the week of 11/3/08

Yesterday was an amazing day. “When the praises go up, God’s glory comes down”. Revival is truly in the air at Living Water and we are seeing growth not only numerically but spiritually as well. New babes in Christ are being born into the Kingdom of God. One man (a first time visitor) received the Holy Ghost Wednesday night and was back on Sunday worshipping the one true God. We baptized three from one family on Sunday and two of them receive the Holy Ghost. When asked how they felt their responses were “great, like I’m floating” and “alive”. Hallelujah, we serve an awesome God!

God was truly welcomed through worship and moved in a mighty way. Through obedience healing was begun and blessings were poured out. As the pastor spoke to us about a “Progressive God” I could see a stirring among the people. Wow, to realize that if we just keep on keeping on He will see us through the battle. No matter what we face we just have to keep looking forward and hold on and remember God is in control, never looking back to where we were. If we will put our faith and trust in Him, He is always faithful to bring us through. If we will just hold on to His promises we will continue to see blessings and growth.
