Revival is still in the air as we continue to restore the song in our hearts. A spirit of repentance prevailed in our service Sunday as we were challenged to “not let the leftovers go to waste”. God uses what we have even when WE feel like it isn’t worth using. Often times we feel that our mistakes keep us from being able to move forward and we blame our current situations on our pasts. We must keep our eyes on God and let Him take what we have left and mold it into a beautiful vessel for His glory.
And oh my, Wednesday night’s message on getting back to the basics….what a key message. It was just what we needed to hear. We need to get off our fast paced merry-go-round called life and get back to the basics of the Bible. Too many times we read a few verses and feel like we’ve done our part when in fact, we don’t really scratch the surface. We need to take time to read, pray, study, and think about what we’ve read. This is the only way to comprehend the full meaning of God’s word.
As we approach the thanksgiving season let us all take a moment to rejoice in God’s blessings on others. Two prayers have been answered in a great way. A man who had recently lost his job testified last night that he found a full-time job. Another lady who had been praying for financial blessing gave testimony that her blessing will come in the opportunity to work more hours on her job. God is good, all the time; and always right on time.
May we all continue in a spirit of praise and worship as we prepare to bless others this Sunday. In this time of economic difficulty we are privileged to be able to give away 100 turkeys to bless families in our community. Let us pray that as we go door to door to share God’s blessings we will let our community see Jesus in our smiles.
