Happenings at Living Water for the week of 11/30/08

What a week?! Another soul was baptized in the precious name of Jesus on Sunday. AMEN.

We have been challenged this week to hold on to our standards and increase our faith. Boy do we need to accept these challenges. I know these are not easy tasks, but if we hold steadfast to His word, they are not impossible. We must pray daily for His strength to sustain us.

I have heard it said many times that our lives are the only Bible some may ever read. As I look at the world around me I realize that now more than ever we must hold fast to holiness if we are to let His light shine through us. Of course I realize that holiness comes from within but the world sees the outward appearance first. If we do not appear different, how will they know that we are? What a thought to ponder.

It is my prayer that we will each accept the challenges we have been given so that we may fight the good fight and come out on top. We must continue in prayer for as we are told in James 5:16 “…the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”.

Blessings on you all.

Happenings at Living Water for the week of 11/23

What a great day we had Sunday. There was such a spirit of freedom in the service as we let the chains of bondage break and God poured out blessings and healing. When we walked through the doors we could sense His presence and knew right away that something good was going to happen, and it did.

And what better way to finish the day than by being a blessing to the families in our community. As we went door-to-door giving away turkeys we prayed that God would use each turkey to open a door to winning souls for His kingdom. We met people from all walks of life and there was a great response as appreciation could be read in the faces of those who received a turkey. Some people were near tears and others almost speechless to learn that someone wanted to give them something without asking for anything in return. What a blessing to be able to give!

As we go into this Thanksgiving week let us take a moment to thank God for His blessings and mercy He bestows upon us. Let us each enter into his courts with thanksgiving in our hearts and into his courts with praise. Let us be thankful for family and friends that we hold dear and may we pray for those servicemen and women who cannot be with their families at this time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
